Second Sunday of Epiphany

We continue our series looking at Mark chapter 1 seeing the start of Jesus’ ministry.
Jesus made known is a running theme of Epiphany. God revealed to the nations. In Mark, Jesus enters the scene with all the power of God. Today we hear the proclamation The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” Mark 1:15 (NIV)
With this statement, Jesus then starts to call people to follow Him. We are called to hear this call, to follow our Lord. Jesus is on a mission to save the world, and he invites us to follow. Why? For he has given to us a greater task, to invite others into the Kingdom of God.

Jesus Made Know

Join us Sundays @ 9 am

Bible Study @ 10:30 am

“making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.” (Ephesians 1:9-10 ESV)

What are we to make of Jesus?

His early ministry was filled with great success and great confession. His own disciples did not understand him. Yet he came with a purpose and with power. Hidden in human flesh was God for us. For the next couple of weeks, we are looking at the early chapters of Mark and John, hearing what Jesus says about himself.
